Automatic reset allows short-term faults to be cleared and ease systems to restart

Description

This ABL8 regulated switch mode power supply (SMPS) supplies direct current voltage. It has a rated input of 100V to 500V AC, a rated output current of 5A at 24V DC and a rated power output of 120W. It is ideal for supplying DC voltage necessary for automation equipment designed for applications in industrial, commercial and residential applications such as conveying, packaging, control, food & beverage, mining, oil & gas and water. It is also equipped with a PFC (Power Factor Correction) filter. It has LED diagnostics indicator available in the front for troubleshooting instantly. Automatic reset allows short-term faults to be cleared and systems to restart without the need to disturb on-duty maintenance engineers. It installs on DIN rail and is 56mm-wide. It weighs 0,700kg. It is a power supply for industrial use, rail mounting. It conforms to UL 508, CSA C22.2 No 60950-1 standards. The GB2CD07, GB2CD08, GV2RT06 and GV2ME06 thermal magnetic circuit breakers are recommanded for its protection. It has LED diagnostics indicator available in the front for troubleshooting instantly. It installs on DIN rail. It brings energy to your automated systems. Designed for simple machines and applications, modular power supplies are primarily appreciated for their extreme compactness.

Performance Curves

Regulated Switch Mode Power Supplies
Derating

The ambient temperature is a determining factor that limits the power an electronic power supply can deliver continuously. If the temperature around the electronic components is too high, their life will be significantly reduced.

The nominal ambient temperature for the Universal range of Phaseo power supplies is 50°C. Above this temperature, derating is necessary up to a maximum temperature of 60°C.

The graph below shows the power (in relation to the nominal power) that the power supply can deliver continuously, depending on the ambient temperature.

X Maximum operating temperature (°C)

ABL 8RPM, ABL 8RPS, ABL 8WPS mounted vertically

Derating should be considered in extreme operating conditions:

  • Intensive operation (output current permanently close to the nominal current, combined with a high ambient temperature)

  • Output voltage set above 24 Vdc (to compensate for line voltage drops, for example)

  • Parallel connection to increase the total power
